A hacker group called Gonjeshke Darande, or "Predatory Sparrow", attacked one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in Iran on Wednesday, destroying nearly $90 million and threatening to disclose the platform's source code.
This is the group's second operation in two days, following their claimed attack on the state-owned Sepah Bank of Iran on Tuesday amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
The latest attack targeted Nobitex, a major Iranian cryptocurrency exchange, which, according to the hackers in a social media post early Wednesday morning, allegedly helps the Iranian government evade sanctions and finance illegal global operations.
