BREAKING: The Federal Reserve held its benchmark interest rate steady on Wednesday.
The Fed's decision comes hours after President Trump called Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell a "stupid person."
"We have a man who just refuses to lower the Fed rate," Trump told reporters. "Maybe I should go to the Fed. Am I allowed to appoint myself? I’d do a much better job than these people."
Four meetings and six months have elapsed since the Fed last adjusted interest rates.
