🇺🇸🇯🇵🇪🇺 President Trump remarked that Japan is showing a "tough" stance in trade negotiations and criticized the European Union (EU) for not presenting a fair deal.

He warned that the EU needs to come up with a "good deal" or face higher tariffs. U.S. trade officials continue to stay in Canada to continue negotiations.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that negotiations are progressing but remain complex, with the aim of reaching an agreement before retaliatory tariffs take effect on July 9.

Additionally, President Trump also had a positive phone call with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Note: Previously, President Trump also made similar statements regarding China, but ultimately the U.S. and China reached a trade deal.
