Scammers are increasingly posing as Binance support staff
Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, reported an increase in cases where fraudsters impersonate employees of the platform's support service.
The company stated that fraudsters are trying to imitate official Binance support channels and are also using fake requests for video identity verification of users or offering to scan malicious QR codes to gain unauthorized access to exchange accounts.
The Binance team reported that the number of exchange customers has exceeded 275 million, making them a frequent target for fraudster attacks. Earlier, Australian police and the National Anti-Fraud Center (NASC) reported that more than 130 Binance customers may have fallen victim to scammers posing as exchange employees and lost their cryptocurrency assets.
