Ripple (XRP) falls 5% amid conflict between Iran and Israel
As the world teeters on the brink of another major conflict in the Middle East, the price of the fourth largest cryptocurrency, Ripple (XRP), has dropped 5% in the last 24 hours, from $2.24 to $2.13.
According to CoinMarketCap, due to a decrease in network activity and a mass sell-off in the cryptocurrency market, XRP's market capitalization has also fallen by 4.92%. After the attack, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei promised to take retaliatory measures.
On June 13, Israel carried out the largest airstrike on Iran's nuclear facilities and several key targets, deploying over 200 fighter jets. During this attack, Israeli forces killed several military commanders, including the head of the Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force, Hossein Salami, and the chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces, Mohammad Bagheri.
