After four years of litigation, Ripple ( $XRP ) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have jointly filed a settlement agreement.
Under the terms of the settlement, Ripple will pay a $50 million fine to the SEC and will also return $75 million of the funds in its escrow account. At the same time, both sides agreed not to file new appeals and not to delay the process of dispute settlement.
There is a 70% chance that Judge Torres will approve the agreement, according to attorney John Deaton.
