Metaplanet's shares rose by more than 17% after the announcement from the Japanese investment company about acquiring 1,112 BTC, which increased its total assets to 10,000 BTC — exceeding the amount owned by Coinbase Global.

On Monday, Metaplanet's CEO Simon Heroivich stated on X that the company acquired an additional 1,112 BTC for 117.2 million USD at an average price of 105,435 USD per Bitcoin. This increased its total assets to 10,000 BTC.
