#VietnamCryptoPolicy
Vietnam has recently taken a major step in digital asset regulation by passing the Law on Digital Technology Industry, which officially legalizes and regulates cryptocurrencies and digital assets starting January 1, 2026. The law classifies digital assets into two main categories:
Virtual assets: Typically non-financial tokens, loyalty points, or gaming-related digital goods.
Crypto assets: Digital assets using encryption or distributed ledger technology for validation, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Vietnam’s new policy positions it as a leader in Southeast Asia for digital asset regulation and innovation
