One of the main questions surrounding the national cryptocurrency reserve is the mechanism for building this reserve and reaching a sufficient amount of cryptocurrencies. This is because these currencies are sold in a manner similar to gold and other precious metals, and cannot be accessed through traditional mining methods.

Cynthia Lummis, a Republican U.S. Senator, suggested that the Trump administration purchase one million "Bitcoins" over a period of 5 years at a rate of 200,000 "Bitcoins" per year, by allocating $90 billion from the state budget to achieve this, which comes from American taxpayers' money.

Meanwhile, some advisors in the Trump administration proposed that the cryptocurrencies seized by the U.S. government from criminals be added to this reserve, as the estimated value of these currencies is more than approximately $17 million.
