Bitcoin Network Sees 19-Month Low In Transactions

Bitcoin network activity has dropped to a 19-month low, with daily transactions falling to levels not seen since October 2023, despite BTC’s high price. Low-fee transactions, some as low as 0.1 sat/vB, are being accepted by miners like MARA, highlighting weak demand. This prompted 31 Bitcoin Core developers to release a statement opposing censorship of such transactions, stressing Bitcoin’s censorship-resistant nature. The stance sparked debate, with critics like Samson Mow accusing devs of enabling spam.
