#CEXvsDEX101

Centralized exchanges (CE) are platforms where all operations are controlled by a single company. They are convenient, fast, and offer many features, such as margin trading and support for different currencies. However, they have a downside — your money is stored with the exchange, and if it is hacked or goes bankrupt, you could lose your funds.

Decentralized exchanges (DE) operate without intermediaries, transactions occur directly between users through smart contracts. This is safer in terms of fund storage, as you control your own money. However, such exchanges can be slower, the interface is more complex, and the choice of currencies is limited.

I prefer CE when I need speed and convenience, and DE when security and control over my assets are important.
