Elon Musk Erupts: “I Can’t Take It Anymore” — Warns U.S. on Path to Bankruptcy
Elon Musk has issued a fiery warning about the state of U.S. government spending, slamming a new Congressional bill as a “disgusting abomination” and warning that America is headed toward economic disaster if reckless fiscal policies continue.
In a post on X, Musk wrote:
“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.”
The target of Musk’s frustration is the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a sweeping tax-and-spending measure passed by the House and awaiting Senate approval. Backed by former President Donald Trump, the bill has come under fire for its projected long-term impact on the federal deficit.
According to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, the bill would add $2.5 trillion to primary deficits over the next decade. With interest and potentially permanent provisions like tax breaks and credits, the cost could rise to $5.1 trillion.
Musk continued:
“It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit and burden American citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt… Congress is making America bankrupt.”
A longtime critic of government inefficiency, Musk recently stepped down from his advisory role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), but says the mission of reform must go on.
Senator Rand Paul echoed Musk’s concern, writing:
“I agree with Elon. We’ve both seen massive waste in government spending. Another $5 trillion in debt is a huge mistake.”
The White House defended the legislation, calling it essential for tax relief and investment in national priorities.
Musk’s blunt warning has reignited debate over the U.S.’s ballooning debt—and whether politicians are ignoring the long-term consequences.
