Dogecoin was created as a joke in 2013 by IBM software engineer Billy Markus and Adobe engineer Jackson Palmer, and it has now become a multi-billion dollar currency. Elon Musk helped the currency by tweeting about it in the first half of 2021. The meme coin was designed as a combination of the current digital currencies Luckycoin and Litecoin, with no maximum supply. Today, aside from being a 'meme' currency, DOGE can be used as a payment tool on Reddit and Twitter.
