What would the cryptocurrency market look like without "dog" coins? Perhaps it would be less chaotic, but that didn't stop an unknown man named "Ryoshi" from creating Shiba Inu in 2020 - which, thanks to the so-called "Shib Army" and the famous Vitalik Buterin who acquired 40% of the supply, saw the currency achieve massive gains during 2021. Unlike DOGE which operates on its own blockchain, Shiba Inu relies on Ethereum for its increased scalability. So far, some of its use cases include the "Shiba artistic movement" for NFT assets and a campaign through AmazonSmile to raise funds to rescue real Shiba Inu dogs. Pretty cool.
