In a surprising turn, former U.S. President Donald Trump has openly condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin for launching deadly airstrikes across Ukrainian cities.

“He’s killing far too many people, not just soldiers,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “These missile and drone attacks on civilian areas make no sense.”

“Russia Could Collapse If This Continues”

Trump warned that Putin’s ambition to take over all of Ukraine could have disastrous consequences for Russia itself.

“If he pushes for full control of Ukraine, it could spell the end of Russia as we know it,” Trump said. Once known for a more cooperative tone with Putin, he now says, “Something has clearly changed.”

Criticism for Zelensky Too

Trump didn’t hold back on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky either.

“Everything he says seems to stir up more trouble,” Trump commented. “I don’t like it, and he needs to cut it out.”

He repeated his familiar claim that the war wouldn’t have happened if he were in office:

“This is the result of Zelenskyy, Putin, and Biden’s failures—not mine. I’m trying to stop the disaster they caused.”

Civilian Deaths and Renewed Attacks

The latest wave of Russian strikes followed a major prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine. Among the dead were three children—ages 8, 12, and 17—in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region.

More Sanctions on the Table?

When asked if the U.S. might respond, Trump said new sanctions were definitely being considered.

“There’s something seriously wrong with him,” he said of Putin. “He’s causing so much unnecessary death. It’s outrageous.”
