Pizza Day: pizzas purchased with Bitcoin would cost more than $1 billion today!📝📑📈🍕😎
On May 22, 2010, two pizzas were purchased for 10 thousand Bitcoin. At that time, the total value of the transaction was only $41. With Bitcoin at $109 thousand, those same 10 thousand BTC are worth more than $1.09 billion today, equivalent to over R$ 6 billion.
Now, if you calculate the price of a pizza, around R$ 100, the 10 thousand BTC from 2010 would be enough to buy more than 52 million pizzas. That could feed the entire population of Italy, the birthplace of pizza, or even serve four pizzas for each person in São Paulo.
This transaction, made by Laszlo Hanyecz, a programmer, marked the first real purchase with Bitcoin, and the story is still alive today. Who would have thought that those two pizzas would become one of the most emblematic moments in the crypto world?
