Solana is preparing the largest technical upgrade called Alpenglow
Instead of the TowerBFT consensus, a new system called Votor will be implemented, where block finalization will take only 100–150 ms.
There will also be Rotor — a protocol for fast block transmission that will replace the current Turbine and reduce the load on nodes.
The goal is to make Solana faster, more stable, and more scalable under high demand.
