It’s Not Elite if Your Child is Always Excluded

Sending your child to a school with high fees but where you can’t afford the full experience isn’t elite it’s quietly painful.

Elite education isn’t just about the classroom or the label on the school gate; it’s about belonging. It’s about a child feeling seen, included, and part of something. When they sit out on trips, costume days, or fun activities because “we’ll do it next year,” they may smile, but inside, they feel it.

They might not say it in words but they notice when others bring cupcakes to class and they come empty-handed. They notice when friends talk about adventures in Paris or even Obudu and they were at home with stories unshared.

Exclusion chips away at confidence. It silently teaches a child they are “less than.”

So before you make that school choice, ask: Can I give my child the whole experience not just the fees, but the feeling of inclusion?

Because the truth is: It’s not elite if your child is always on the sidelines.

Choose what’s sustainable. Choose connection over competition. Choose wholeness.

Be Intentional.
