Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 16, according to CoinDesk, U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres rejected the $50 million settlement request jointly filed by Ripple Labs and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In her ruling on Thursday, the judge noted that since the case is currently under appeal, the request not only exceeds her jurisdiction but is also "procedurally improper." Even if she had the authority to handle it, the request did not meet the standards required to modify the final judgment. Ripple's Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty stated on social media, "Today's ruling does not change Ripple's victory," and called it merely a procedural issue regarding the dismissal of Ripple's cross-appeal, with both parties intending to jointly submit a resolution to the court.
