Meet Laszlo Hanyecz — the man who famously traded 10,000 BTC for two pizzas.
Back in 2010, he posted on a forum:
"I'll pay 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas."
At the time, that was worth just around $25.
A fellow user accepted the offer, ordered two Papa John’s pizzas, and had them delivered to Laszlo in Florida. Laszlo sent the BTC using a command-line wallet — and just like that, the first known real-world crypto transaction was born.
Fast forward to today, and those 10,000 BTC would be worth around $1 billion (with Bitcoin now trading at ~$100,000).
May 22 is now celebrated as Bitcoin Pizza Day, a lighthearted nod to this historic moment.
The question is: Can Laszlo ever forgive himsel
