BlockBeats news, on May 13, Judge Edward Mellor of the UK High Court issued a comprehensive injunction against Craig Wright, a computer scientist claiming to be 'Satoshi Nakamoto', prohibiting him from continuing to file defamation lawsuits. In a ruling on May 12, Judge Mellor noted that Wright's repeated false statements and aggressive litigation had created legal 'dilemmas' for individuals and developers in the Bitcoin community, and he attempted to 'weaponize the legal system' to intimidate critics. His lawsuits are often based on forged evidence, forcing others to spend significant time and money on legal defenses.
Previously, in 2021, the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) sued Wright for his long-standing false claims of being the inventor of Bitcoin. In March of last year, a UK court ruled that he was unrelated to the creation of Bitcoin, and in December he received a one-year suspended sentence for contempt of court. This injunction marks the end of a nearly decade-long legal farce, during which Wright also launched defamation lawsuits against Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and others. (Cointelegraph)
