quicc off the cuff quantum thots
w/ blackrock amending etf risk disclosures to include quantum, you gotta start having some views here
naturally there is a lot of narrative at play here so ideas are forming around QR - but IMO, the only real and proper solution to QR is a true, inherent protocol-level hashing (and perhaps consensus) upgrade - full stop
the alternatives make little sense -
QR SCs with 1-shot signatures? - okay great you have protected YOUR tokens while the rest of the network incinerates mcap and is a total mess
QR L1? - okay great, you are implying all the value currently in every other chain should just flow here. Obviously the existing chains would rather just change their own protocol
now the thing here is stuff like ETH and SOL should be more nimble, and forward thinking to get this done pre any issues. May as well be early here than late, and both can move relatively quick
BTC on the other hand, and correct me if I'm wrong, I believe a hashing change of this level would require at the very least resurfacing block size debate and lead to an impasse in decision. Maybe not, but BTC is still kinda slow to change pretty much anything at core level
so as a final side result of all this and maybe a more concrete point to this post - ETH guys are tryna push this pivot right now and pectra this whatever that - listen, hold up for a second - if you really want ETH/BTC to catapult to 0.15 practically overnight, just announce a concrete, short dated plan to implement QR at the protocol level. Become the forward thinking QR chain, promote safety over uncertainty. this is the way, end thots
