Part of the Grand Circuit and organised by the Hambletonian Society, The Matron Stakes is an annual event that takes place at Dover Downs in Delaware.
The event attracts the very best Pacers and Trotters for the 2YO & 3YO showcases, carrying a significant purse prize of $185,000 for 3YO's.
The Matron Stakes often feature horses that have competed in other major races, such as the Breeders Crown, with winners frequently rebounding from earlier performances to shine here during the month of November.
