Co-founders of #NOTCOİN Sasha and Vladimir Plotvinov in a conversation with Cointelegraph at the #token2049 conference said that the format of tap-to-earn crypto game projects (clicker games or “tap-tap”) is “probably dead”. Developers noted that this type of game is no longer profitable and is being replaced by new ones.
Notcoin became one of the top Web3 projects on Telegram in 2024, garnering about 30 million players. Its token $NOT has since fallen more than 90% from its peak. NOT is now ranked 172nd on CoinMarketCap with a capitalization of $228 million (it was $2.4 billion at its peak).
According to Plotvinovs, “tap-tap” no longer holds the attention of users and game creators are moving on to more engaging and socially-oriented projects or Defi $TON for passive income.
