French police conducted a special operation on May 3 in the Paris suburb of Palaiseau, freeing a hostage and arresting five suspects aged between 20 and 27. The victim and his son run a crypto company operating in France and Malta and have previously received threats.
This case is the third in France in 2025 related to the crypto industry, indicating a rise in crime in this area. Police are continuing their investigation to prevent similar crimes.
