Paolo Ardoino, CEO of stablecoin issuer Tether, announced that its artificial intelligence product Tether AI is set to launch, described as a 'completely open-source AI execution environment' aimed at operating on any hardware and device and integrating cryptocurrency payment features through Tether's Wallet Development Kit (WDK).

Ardoino explained the vision of Tether AI on the social platform X:

A completely open-source AI execution environment that can adapt and evolve on any hardware and device—no API keys required, no single point of failure, fully modular and composable, built-in WDK, supporting USDT and Bitcoin payments. Tether AI technology will enable a peer-to-peer network that cannot be shut down, composed of billions of AI agents.

According to Tether's official website, Tether AI may also integrate its peer-to-peer communication application Keet and other data tools in the future.

In recent years, Tether has actively entered the field of artificial intelligence. To strengthen its AI layout, Tether invested in German data center operator Northern Data in September 2023. Two months later, Tether will increase its debt financing for the company to $610 million.
