Sign of a Softening in the Trade War?

China announced that it will exempt approximately $40 billion worth of goods imported from the#USfrom reciprocal tariffs.

This equates to a quarter of total imports. This step, which covers strategic items such as pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals, shows that#Chinais trying to ease economic pressures.

While tensions are at their peak with the US bringing tariffs of up to 245%, it is striking that the parties are taking such “temporary ceasefire” steps. It seems that both sides are looking for a middle ground that will protect their economies without burning bridges yet.
