#AirdropSafetyGuide - The former CEO of Binance criticized Europe for cryptocurrency adoption.

Changpeng "CZ" Zhao, the former CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, said that most European countries were moving "nowhere" in terms of digital currency adoption.

In his speech at the Token2049 conference in Dubai on April 30, Zhao said that the areas of the United Arab Emirates were "extremely pro-business," leading to cryptocurrency adoption in Dubai, while others like Bhutan were building national reserves of Bitcoin BTCUSD and Ether ETHUSD. According to Zhao, the U.S. was pressuring other countries exploring their own policies for a crypto reserve, but those in Europe did not seem to react.

"I don't see Europe in this discussion," Zhao said, highlighting one exception. "Montenegro is quite favorable to cryptocurrencies. We maintained an active dialogue with the Prime Minister of that country, who is a forward-thinking leader. But aside from Montenegro, I don't have any others, as it seems to be lacking on the map."

Zhao, who has a house in Dubai, resigned as CEO of Binance in November 2023 as part of an agreement with U.S. authorities pursuing charges against the exchange. Since leaving Binance and serving four months in prison in the United States, he has become more involved with his educational platform, Giggle Academy.
