imagine building an app for non crypto natives. here’s what their real first experience often looks like: > user lands on your app > “connect wallet” (they don’t have one) > ok, they go download MetaMask or Rabby (or maybe you offer social login youhouu) > install extension or mobile app > write down 12 words (panic so screenshot it lol) > come back to your app, connect wallet > now they need crypto to do anything > oh wait, they need to bridge to your chain > find an exchange, buy crypto > send it to the wallet (wrong network? fee too high? stuck in pending?) > come back again > need to approve a token before using it > now they can finally try your app maybe, if they didn’t quit already if your app is for regular people, none of these steps make sense social login, gasless flows, in-app wallet, fiat onramps, etc => these aren’t nice to haves anymore, they’re table stakes for anyone trying to go beyond CT

best way for a crypto app to go mainstream is actually to never mention anything related to crypto

few observations: - people are (finally) putting more emphasis on real revenue - apps are what’s make chains valuable - chains should start focusing on distribution - L2s are fine, but only if they’re actually differentiated something is changing (hopefully)

real question: why is it harder for apps to raise money than infra?
