How I Stay Safe While Hunting for Airdrops — My Personal Checklist

Post Content:

Airdrops are great, but they come with risks — fake links, wallet thieves, and phishing scams. Here’s my personal security routine for avoiding loss of funds while hunting for airdrops:

1. Use a separate wallet: I always use a dedicated wallet with no significant funds just for interactions with airdrops — this limits damage if something goes wrong.

2. Avoid suspicious links: I never click on links from DMs or comments. I only use links from official sources, such as CoinMarketCap, project websites, or verified Twitter accounts.

3. Never share seed phrases: Real airdrops NEVER ask for your seed phrase or private keys. If they do — it’s a scam, 100%.

4. Revoke unused permissions: I regularly visit revoke.cash to remove token approvals from old or risky contracts.

5. Double-check URLs: Fraudulent sites often look identical to the real ones. I carefully verify the domain name before connecting my wallet.

6. Use wallet security tools: I activate phishing protection extensions, such as Wallet Guard, and keep my browser and wallet updated.

These steps keep my assets safe while exploring airdrop opportunities. A few minutes of caution can protect you from massive losses!
