Beware! Trump is about to come and issue tokens to harvest the retail investors.

According to The Block, Trump's Media & Technology Group plans to launch a utility token for Truth Social. This token will be integrated into the Truth digital wallet, initially used for paying Truth+ subscription fees, with the potential to expand to other products and services within the Truth Social ecosystem in the future.

To be honest, I'm not very optimistic. I wonder how many people are looking forward to whether it can replicate TRUMP?

The surge of TRUMP was largely due to emotions, Trump's reputation at the time, the expectations brought by the election cycle, and the attention brought by Trump's personal label and controversies. It is essentially more like a MEME with political symbolism, rather than a token with practical functionality.

In simple terms, its rise is not based on product logic, but on the traffic and speculative emotions generated by the words "Trump" itself; but now Trump has already become unpopular!

Platform tokens are a different matter. Platform tokens focus on ecosystem, user count, transaction volume, fee discounts, governance, and such. Truth Social is not an on-chain product; Web3 users don’t have much interaction demand on it.

This "platform token" is ultimately just a pretext for raising money, not because the app needs a token to operate; they could also empower TRUMP. Why choose to issue a new token? Trump has already cut off his supply; if empowerment means lifting retail investors, that is absolutely not allowed for someone who is harvesting retail investors. Issuing a new token will earn far more than pulling an old token!

The First Lady token is a very good contrasting case. The topic is there, but there is no expected path for fulfillment, and funds are unwilling to truly engage. In the end, it's just a fleeting wave.

So I think, never use TRUMP’s achievements to evaluate Truth Social’s token. That’s not a model; it’s an exception, and one could even say it’s an extreme emotional case that cannot be replicated.

Finally, I call on everyone to steer clear of Trump’s projects; even if it rises tenfold or hundredfold, don’t touch it. If no one picks up Trump’s tokens, he won’t be able to harvest, and eventually, he will give up the idea of issuing tokens to raise money. The crypto world will be saved; there will always be opportunities in crypto, so why keep lifting him up? Stand firm!
