The Proposal to Exclude MPs from Development Work by the Revolutionary Workers Party
The Revolutionary Workers Party has opposed the involvement of Members of Parliament (MPs) in developmental work. Although the work is of local government, currently, MPs control these activities, which have been subject to various allegations of irregularities. At the same time, the party has proposed to stop the 'lump sum allocation' for MPs.
On Tuesday (April 29), after a dialogue with the National Consensus Commission in the LD Hall of the National Parliament Building, the party's General Secretary Saiful Haque made these statements.
He stated that according to laws and regulations, the primary role of MPs is to legislate. There have been various allegations at times that MPs evade their main duties and take control of various developmental works of local government, which has also led to discussions about various syndicates surrounding them.
