We are excited to share the latest updates on the Internet Computer dashboard (dashboard.internetcomputer.org) - this portal aims to help developers, users, and ecosystem explorers better understand the network through clean and accessible data.
The dashboard was originally built as a powerful utility for real-time metrics and is now continually evolving into a more structured, insight-driven platform; this article focuses on its recent improvements and explains how we are building a more data-driven, interconnected, ecosystem-level view of the Internet Computer.
New features in the dashboard
Here is a brief overview of the latest updates, including navigation improvements, updated subnet pages, new ecosystem token pages, and a more ecosystem-centric experience!
Information architecture and navigation
We first reorganized the structure of the applications to make content easier to find and understand, which helps us showcase how different types of data are interconnected and make overall navigation more meaningful.
With a clear structure, we redesigned the navigation to highlight the most important content, making it easier to find key sections whether you want to explore subnets in detail or just get an overview of the ecosystem.

Focusing on the community
As the dashboard continues to evolve, we will be community-centric, which includes showcasing projects, DAOs, and tokens created by the community. We will also simplify the process of exploring who is building what and how everything in the ecosystem is interconnected.
The homepage now serves as the entry point to the dashboard, providing not only technical statistics but also highlighting the broader ecosystem - including projects, tokens, and events on the Internet Computer.

Network page
This page not only displays infrastructure statistics but also tells a story - allowing users to browse subnets and intuitively understand their locations and compositions (e.g., number of node machines, node providers, data centers, etc.).
Below the 'Heroes' section, users can find more detailed information about network components, such as subnet details, network performance, carbon footprint, and more.

Subnets now have a brand new, more understandable view, allowing users to see which countries are included in each subnet and what types of applications are running on these subnets, each subnet also displays a decentralization score that reflects the distribution of control between node providers and data centers, making it easier to compare different subnets and quickly understand the balance and security of each subnet.

Subnet page
The layout of the subnet pages has been updated to more clearly showcase subnet activities, helping users identify the concentrated locations of workloads and changes in decentralization levels, with visual metrics for container counts, transaction rates, and subnet loads, making it easy to compare the performance of different subnets at a glance.

Laying the foundation for ecosystem tokens
We have started building the token section, and now you can explore chain-key tokens (e.g., ckBTC) and SNS tokens, soon you will also see an expanded list of ecosystem tokens, including contextual and informational data for each asset, such as price, trading volume, and deeper views.

Why this update is needed
The Internet Computer dashboard has long provided real-time network insights and historical data through charts, tables, and network activity sources; however, despite its rich content, key information is often scattered across multiple sections, and we aim to provide a more comprehensive view of network dynamics.
By addressing this issue, our goal is to answer practical questions more directly, including the following:
What is happening on the Internet Computer right now?
Which projects are gaining attention? How can we discover them early?
Which assets and relationships are associated with specific entities? (Entities on ICP can be 'people', containers, or neurons)
What is the function of a specific container? How can users explore it further?
How do new tokens or DAOs fit into the broader ecosystem?
These challenges necessitate a better structure and a more interconnected view, and these improvements now form the foundation for the ongoing evolution of the dashboard.
What comes next
These updates are just the beginning, introducing structural improvements and a clearer information model, allowing the ICP dashboard to better support a series of upcoming features, including:
Expanding token coverage: supporting most ICRC standards and ecosystem tokens, along with token-level insights and activity history.
Price data: aggregated from multiple sources to help you track market trends and on-chain statistics for reference.
Smarter search: making it easier to search for and discover any token, entity, container, or SNS.
Aggregated view: exploring the integration of all relevant data about nodes, projects, or entities into a single contextual view.
Each update will build upon this newly established foundation, gradually transforming the dashboard into a unified, highly contextual data layer for the Internet Computer.
Integrating everything
The Internet Computer dashboard is evolving through thoughtful iterative improvements based on how our community uses data in practice; we are transforming isolated fragmented information into interconnected stories, revealing the dynamics of the ecosystem, builders, and the direction of network development.
As we continue to build, we welcome feedback from all sectors of the community; these updates are just the start of a more transparent and data-rich future for ICP - we look forward to continuing to work together to shape it.
