🟡 Dogecoin ETF Filing Acknowledged by SEC The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has acknowledged a Dogecoin (DOGE) exchange-traded fund (ETF) filing by 21Shares. This comes after the SEC also moved to start reviewing a similar Dogecoin ETF filing from Grayscale in early February. The acknowledgment means that the regulatory agency has added the application to the public record and kicked off a review process. It takes the SEC up to 240 days to decide whether it should approve or reject a certain ETF. Of course, the fact that the SEC has merely acknowledged an ETF filing does not necessarily mean that it will eventually be greenlit. It took spot Bitcoin ETFs more than a decade to finally obtain approval from the SEC. With altcoins, however, things are moving at a much faster pace with the new crypto-friendly SEC administration. In late April, the SEC delayed pot Dogecoin ETF applications from Bitwise. 🔵 Chainlink Skyrockets 125% in Whale Moves as Millions of $LINK Get Shifted Chainlink has skyrocketed 125% in large transaction volume, a metric indicative of whale activity. In the last 24 hours, Chainlink's large transaction volume came in at $133.94 million, or eight million LINK in crypto terms. On-chain data reveals that millions of LINK tokens have been transferred in recent hours, suggesting that major players are repositioning for what could be Chainlink's next price move. According to blockchain tracker Whale Alert, over 2.5 million LINK were shifted from crypto exchange to unknown wallets in two transactions. Whale Alert reports separate transactions of 1,250,000 LINK worth $20,513,896 and 1,289,995 LINK valued at $21,175,447 transferred from Bybit crypto exchange to unknown wallets. Withdrawals from exchanges reveal intent to buy, while deposits may imply selling. Hence, the recent move might be of accumulation by whales or large holders, or it could just be a reshuffling of funds. 🔸 Chainlink gains attention Chainlink is gaining attention as the 12th-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. In reaction to Chairman Paul Atkins' remarks at the Crypto Task Force roundtable on tokenization, Chainlink stated that the tokenization of traditional securities marks a new era for U.S. capital markets, bringing heightened market access, transparency and resiliency. It also added that the creation of a rational regulatory framework for crypto asset markets brings forward the inevitable: tokenization of all assets. At press time, the Chainlink price was down 1.31% in the last 24 hours to $16.65, reflecting the current profit-taking on the market; however, it remains 17% up weekly. ⭐️ $XRP Holders Urged to Mark Their Calendar for This Date Chicago-based derivatives giant CME Group has urged the holders of XRP ahead of the launch of futures tied to the popular altcoin. The much-awaited product is expected to go live on May 19. CME inadvertently revealed its plans to introduce XRP with a beta page on its website. The derivatives giant quickly moved to downplay the leak, claiming that it was merely a mock-up in a test environment. However, XRP did confirm its intention to launch such a product in April. The official confirmation came shortly after CME introduced Solana futures. Bitnomial rolled out the very first regulated XRP-based futures in the US back in March. CME launched pricing indices for the Ripple-linked token last July, which was a significant sign of XRP's growing institutional adoption. Back then, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse clarified that the launch of the benchmark reference rate was the first step toward institutional crypto products. The launch of XRP futures is considered to be a crucial step before the potential approval of spot-based ETFs tracking the price of the cryptocurrency later this year. As of now, there are more than a dozen pending applications from such major players as Franklin Templeton and Bitwise. It remains to be seen how XRP will react to the launch of CME futures. The token is currently trading at $2.56, according to CoinGecko data. The price of Bitcoin famously peaked in 2018 shortly after the launch of CME's Bitcoin futures. This, of course, does not necessarily mean that XRP is going to suffer the same fate, but there are some concerns about the potential impact of the token on the cryptocurrency's price action.
