Japan has developed an innovative way to protect homes from earthquakes! Air Danshin, a Japanese company, has designed "levitating" houses that use compressed air to lift them off the ground when a quake strikes. Normally, the house rests on a deflated airbag, but when seismic activity is detected, the bag rapidly inflates, raising the structure above the shaking ground. Once the tremors subside, the house gently returns to its original position. This technology has proven effective, with some homes remaining undamaged during a powerful 7.3-magnitude earthquake in 2021.

Additionally, Japan uses seismometers to monitor ground movement and volcanic activity, enabling quick responses to potential disaster
