Banks can offer services with bitcoin, says Fed chairman
The Federal Reserve (Fed) of the United States gives the green light for American banks to offer services with bitcoin ($BTC ) and other cryptocurrencies. Jerome Powell, chairman of the country's main financial institution, said that banks can serve digital asset clients as long as they can manage the risk.
In a press conference following the earlier meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), Powell stated that the Federal Reserve's involvement in the bitcoin and other cryptocurrency ecosystem focuses on bank supervision.
