Banks can offer services with bitcoin, says Fed chairman
The Federal Reserve (Fed) of the United States gives the green light for U.S. banks to offer services with bitcoin ($BTC ) and other cryptocurrencies. Jerome Powell, chairman of the country's main financial institution, stated that banks can serve digital asset clients as long as they can manage the risk.
In a press conference following the earlier meeting of the Open Market Committee (FOMC), Powell expressed that the Federal Reserve's participation in the bitcoin and other cryptocurrency ecosystem focuses on banking supervision.
