According to Cointelegraph, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced the indictment of Kay West, accusing him of selling stolen data on the dark web under the alias IntelBroker, resulting in losses exceeding $25 million. Former SEC Chairman Jay Clayton was involved in unsealing the indictment, stating that this action reflects the FBI's commitment to pursuing global cybercriminals. West conspired with cyber gangs to steal data from multiple companies, including telecommunications firms, healthcare providers, and internet service providers. According to the complaint, an undercover agent purchased data for $250 in Bitcoin, after which West was arrested. FBI Assistant Director Christopher Wray called West a 'habitual hacker' and stated that he illegally profited millions of dollars through selling data. West was active on BreachForums, selling stolen data and accepting Monero payments.
