According to PANews, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) is considering the deletion of 500,000 retinal data records collected by the World platform due to concerns over potential data breaches. Komdigi is currently investigating the risks associated with storing retinal data. If evidence of such risks is found, the data may be permanently deleted.

World, a platform providing identity verification services, has faced scrutiny for offering users 800,000 Indonesian Rupiah (approximately $48.34) to scan their retinas. Following the revocation of its operating license by Komdigi, World has ceased all scanning activities in Indonesia. The platform clarified that its cryptocurrency, Worldcoin, is not used as compensation; instead, these tokens are optional incentives.
