According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on May 10, BlackRock added disclosures about potential risks of quantum computing in its iShares Bitcoin Trust Fund prospectus. The document submitted on May 9 detailed how advancements in quantum computing could affect the cryptographic security of Bitcoin.
The document pointed out that advancements in quantum computing technology could undermine the viability of many cryptographic algorithms used globally, including those used to secure digital assets like Bitcoin. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart stated that such disclosures are standard practice in SEC filings.
At the same time, BlackRock also revised its iShares Ethereum Trust Fund documents to include physical creation/redemption terms.
