According to PANews, French jewelry brand Messika has announced the acceptance of cryptocurrency payments across its global stores and online platform. The brand will support Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and Solana (SOL) as payment options. This initiative is made possible through a partnership with payment service provider Lunu, which facilitates real-time fiat currency settlements at favorable exchange rates. Customers can complete transactions by simply scanning a QR code, with no additional fees involved.
Messika joins other luxury brands like Farfetch and Off-White in embracing cryptocurrency payments. Nicolas Zanelli, Messika's CFO, confirmed that this payment solution is available in all their physical boutiques and e-commerce platforms. Lunu's founder highlighted that this move aims to cater to the payment preferences of high-net-worth individuals in the tech sector. The adoption of cryptocurrency payments in the luxury goods market is reportedly growing at an annual rate of 47%.
