102-year-old Kokichi Akuzawa has become the oldest person to summit Mount Fuji, earning a Guinness World Record. He spent three months preparing for the climb, waking up at 5 a.m., taking long walks, and practicing on smaller mountains near his home in Nagano Prefecture.
Akuzawa previously set the record at age 96 and has overcome shingles, heart issues, and a climbing fall along the way.
