The company Reflect Orbital has raised $20 million in a Series A funding round led by Lux Capital, with participation from Sequoia Capital and Starship Ventures.
Reflect Orbital is creating a satellite constellation designed to redirect sunlight to Earth for large-scale lighting and energy supply. The new funding will allow the team to expand, scale operations, and create the company's first space missions.
"Reflect Orbital is a pioneer in creating a new category of space infrastructure," said Josh Wolfe, managing partner at Lux Capital. "We believe their on-demand lighting technology has the potential to change the approach to solving problems on Earth — from critically important operations to ensure energy resilience."
The launch of the first Reflect satellite is scheduled for spring 2026, starting with a limited-time 'world tour' for lighting 10 iconic locations.
For customers, Reflect Orbital will provide a service:
you provide the exact GPS coordinates of the location where you need light. you select the date and time when you need 'sunlight delivery'. The satellite system will direct sunlight to your location, providing bright light and energy.
