J. D. Vance's Statement ☹️
#TrumpTariffa US Vice President J. D. Vance has sparked a significant wave of criticism after calling the people of China "peasants".
The inappropriate comment occurred during an interview with Fox News last week. Vance's mockery has been condemned by both Chinese citizens and politicians, who also point out the country's technological advancement.
Recordings of the Vice President's Fox News interview are circulating on the Chinese internet, in which he defends the destructive tariffs of US President Donald Trump.
He also railed against the "globalist economy." "What has it brought us? It's basically based on the principle of massive borrowing so we can buy things that other countries make for us," Vance said in the interview.
"We borrow money from Chinese peasants to buy things that these peasants produce," he continued.
Among other reactions, the comment met with a negative response from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "It is shocking and regrettable to hear such ignorant and disrespectful remarks from the Vice President," said a ministry spokesperson, noting that these words have absolutely nothing to do with reality.
China rejects such remarks primarily because it is a technologically very advanced country that, for example, uses cutting-edge technologies, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, and remote regions are connected by a nationwide network of high-speed railways.
That's what I call a successful president and vice president...
Their ultimate arrogance, and they should be ashamed of all the insults during the campaign up to now.
