Barclays invests 131 million USD in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF fund

#Barclays has just disclosed an investment worth 131 million USD in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF fund, marking an important step in major financial institutions participating in the cryptocurrency market.
According to filings submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Barclays purchased 2,473,064 shares of the iShares Bitcoin Trust (
#IBIT ) in the fourth quarter of 2024. This move reflects the increasing interest of traditional banks in cryptocurrencies, especially after the price of Bitcoin surpassed the 100,000 USD mark.
Not only Barclays, but other major banks such as Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan have also ramped up investments in Bitcoin ETF funds. Goldman Sachs currently owns over 24 million IBIT shares, worth approximately 1.3 billion USD, while JPMorgan has also increased its exposure to Bitcoin funds recently.
