According to reports from Wu, a Vietnamese woman named Ngo Thi Theu was arrested in Thailand last Friday for allegedly participating in a cryptocurrency fraud case involving up to $300 million. The case deceived 2,600 victims, as she lured investors into cryptocurrency and foreign exchange trading by promising returns of 20% to 30% per month. The Thai police arrested her based on an Interpol red notice. Vietnam has a large number of investors in crypto assets, with about 21.2% of the population holding cryptocurrencies, making the country a hotspot for related fraud activities.
