South Korean crypto exchange operating profits dropped 78% in the first half of 2026. Trading volume, market cap, and customer deposits all moved lower with it. The local spot business is thinner than it looked a year ago. At the same time, the financial regulator floated detailed rules for tokenized securities ahead of a 2027 rollout: capital requirements, OTC trading licenses, and caps on what retail can buy. So the brokerage side is bleeding while the policy shop is still wiring the next product lane. If you’re watching Korea, the near-term signal is quieter flow. The longer one is whether tokenization actually opens a new fee line before volumes recover. $GTC $SAND $AAVE

NEAR Intents lost about $3.8 million to a bug in deposits and withdrawals on its cross-chain swap system. Swaps are frozen. The contract is patched, but deposits and withdrawals stay disrupted across 11 networks. The company says it will repay every affected user. The hit came shortly after the team refused large swap volume tied to the Bitget theft. That Bitget attacker has since moved about $3.8 million into a Zcash privacy pool. Alex Shevchenko, NEAR Intents' general manager, says the team has identified who drained them and gave the person 48 hours to respond. $NEAR $ZEC $GTC

Bitcoin Policy Institute just published a paper on MSCI’s proposed “non-operating company” rule. Under that standard, Strategy and Metaplanet risk getting cut from MSCI indexes. BPI also flags an “invisible committee” behind the proposal and links it to an earlier crypto treasury review. Same idea, tighter wording: hold too much Bitcoin on the balance sheet and you may no longer count as a normal operating company for index purposes. If it sticks, passive funds that track those indexes would have to sell. The paper does not settle the politics. It does put a clear price tag on the rule for the biggest public Bitcoin holders. $BTC $MOVR $NIGHT

The CFTC sent the White House two proposed rules meant to lock down how it treats prediction markets. One would classify event contracts as swaps. The other would carve out casino-style gambling products from that frame. The point is jurisdiction. If event contracts count as swaps on regulated venues, the agency has a cleaner case for exclusive federal oversight. That matters because several states are already suing prediction-market operators and calling the products gambling. White House review is the next gate. Until those definitions land, the state-versus-federal fight over who polices these markets stays unresolved. $MOVR $GLMR $NIGHT

Analysts are watching a single support under Bitcoin. Hold it and the bull case stays standing. Lose it and buyers get pushed onto the back foot. Near-term price action is basically that contest: one shelf, and a market waiting to see if it holds. $ONE $BTC $MOVR

A voluntary accord linked to Trump asks tech firms to police their own frontier AI. Most of the work of managing those risks sits with the developers. The companies shipping the models also carry the oversight load under this deal. Soft pledges travel fast in markets that live on policy headlines. The open question is how much real constraint the labs accept when the framework stays voluntary. $TRUMP $QNT $MOVR

Anthropic's prospectus, seen by Reuters, maps out $518 billion in planned AI infrastructure spend even while the company is posting heavy losses. Crypto desks barely reacted. Coinbase has received DCO approval from the CFTC, completing its derivatives infrastructure. The approval means Coinbase can list, broker, and clear fully collateralized products in-house. That gives the exchange control across the full derivatives process, from offering products to handling their clearing. $NMR $MARSCOIN $HBAR

South Korea’s manipulation rules have left crypto market making effectively shut down. Regulators are reconsidering after a yen-pegged stablecoin spiked to four times its peg on Upbit this month. Zano restarted at the block height right before Hard Fork 6. That fork introduced Gateway Addresses, and an exploit on them is why the chain got rewound. Roughly a month of post-fork history is off the ledger. The network is live again from the pre-HF6 state. A month-long rollback is a blunt fix. Gateway Addresses cost the chain that much history to undo. $QNT $GRT $QI

Prediction market Kalshi lost another federal appeal on Friday. The Sixth Circuit sided with Ohio and Tennessee, finding Kalshi had not shown its sports-event contracts qualify as swaps under the Commodity Exchange Act. That leaves the contracts under state sports-betting laws, outside federal swap oversight. The ruling widens an existing circuit split and sets up a possible Supreme Court case. $QNT $AMP $RUNE

Spot bitcoin ETFs just took in about $2.4 billion in a week, their biggest haul since October. Across seven straight sessions the total is closer to $3 billion. Two months ago the year still looked ugly. By July the products were sitting roughly $5.8 billion in net outflows for 2026. That hole is filled. Year-to-date flows are now around $800 million positive, enough to erase the post-Clarity Act drain. $BTC $ONE $QNT

The CFTC just sued Cash FX over what it calls a crypto-linked forex operation worth about $950 million. Per the filing, the firm barely traded forex at all. Most of the money clients put in, the agency says, got misappropriated instead of put to work in the markets they were sold. That is the thing to watch in pitches like this: how much real trading shows up versus how much of the pool quietly disappears. $RARE $PHA $ARK

Hester Peirce leaves the U.S. SEC on Oct. 2. She was the commissioner's steadiest crypto advocate for years, the one traders nicknamed Crypto Mom. The exit was long expected. Bitcoin is holding near $84,000 while the macro tape keeps flipping. Treasury yields eased from multi-decade highs and oil slipped after reports of a phased U.S.-Iran deal. Iran denied those talks. Oil climbed again, stocks slipped, and interest rates rose with the energy move. Roughly $14 billion in bitcoin options are set to expire on Deribit on Friday. Price looks calm at the round number. Block is bringing Bitcoin Lightning payments into x402, the open payment standard built for agentic AI commerce. Agents that buy or sell on their own need a way to settle without waiting on a human click; Lightning is Block's answer on top of that shared standard. $BTC $QI $QNT

The Trump administration is looking at a plan to push USD-backed stablecoins overseas, according to reports. The aim is straightforward: keep the dollar's reserve status locked in by getting more of the world settling and saving in dollar tokens. Bloomberg reporting, relayed by crypto outlets, says the effort could pull in private companies and several US agencies. Details are still thin. What is clear is the direction of travel: Washington wants dollar stablecoins used more outside the US, not just at home. If that lands, it is policy treating stablecoins as a soft-power tool for the dollar rather than something regulators only try to contain. $TRUMP $NOM $LSK

Kalshi is batting down wash-trading chatter after CoinDesk flagged oddly repetitive sizes in its bitcoin and ether perpetual books. In the sample CoinDesk reviewed, a single $5,499 clip made up 57% of ether-perpetual volume, while recurring $2,500 and $5,000 prints covered 54% of bitcoin-perpetual volume. The firm says nearly $5 billion of those similarly sized ether perpetual trades came from its liquidity incentive programs. It also says the CFTC has not contacted it and is not investigating the activity. $BTC $ETH $ONE

BitMEX has closed exchange trading after more than a decade. The derivatives venue that once defined crypto futures is done taking new positions. Withdrawals stay open. The firm is telling customers to pull funds while they still can. If you still have size sitting there, treat that as the only move left. Old names leave the board quietly sometimes. This one just leaves the exit door unlocked. $NIL $BCH $MET
