🚨 Bitcoin reached 87,220 after the U.S. jobs report. Hours later, it was trading near 84,000.

Here’s what changed since our morning setup.

September payrolls increased by just 29,000, versus the 90,000 expected in Reuters’ poll. Unemployment reached 4.2%, and July–August payrolls were revised down by a combined 60,000.

Why did stocks welcome softer employment?

It reduced expectations for another Fed rate hike in October. But Treasury yields later reversed their initial decline, and Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee said both a hike and a pause remain possible.

My interpretation: less pressure for a rate hike can support risk appetite. It doesn’t guarantee a sustained Bitcoin rally.

This morning, I was watching a 15-minute close above 86,920, followed by a retest that held.

BTC briefly crossed that level, but no completed 15-minute candle closed above it between the morning snapshot and this update.

The bullish confirmation never arrived. Both support zones we identified were subsequently lost.

My afternoon references:

🟢 Recovery scenario:
Reclaiming 84,900–85,000 and holding it on a retest would strengthen the recovery case. Then I’d watch 85,450–85,500, our former support area.

🔴 Downside scenario:
Losing the session low near 83,900 and failing to reclaim it would keep downside pressure in focus.

$BTC traded near 84,019 USDT at 18:45 UTC — approximately 3.7% below its post-report peak.

Open the 15-minute chart and compare the spike with the candles that followed.

What would you need to see before trusting a recovery: a sustained reclaim of 85,000, or a higher low first?
