Anthony Pompliano secures $750M for Procap BTC and recruits former Bitwise executive Jeff Park as Chief Investment Officer.
Jeff Park's combined expertise in traditional finance and digital assets positions Procap for aggressive Bitcoin-focused growth.
Crypto firms like Procap and SharpLink are intensifying leadership strategies to capitalize on bullish Bitcoin and Ethereum momentum.
Two major crypto players—Procap BTC and SharpLink Gaming—just made massive talent acquisitions that could reshape digital assets. Anthony Pompliano’s Procap BTC, based in the U.S., hired Jeff Park, formerly of Bitwise, as Chief Investment Officer.
Meanwhile, SharpLink Gaming appointed former BlackRock executive Joseph Chalom as Co-CEO. These bold decisions come at a time when crypto firms are scaling up amid bullish momentum in both Bitcoin and Ethereum markets.
Procap raised $750 million in June to build a strong Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy. Just weeks later, Pompliano successfully pulled Jeff Park from Bitwise. Park previously led alpha strategies at Bitwise and helped manage crypto-focused investments.
He also worked at Corbin Capital and Morgan Stanley, building a rich background in asset management. Pompliano wrote, “Find the best people and convince them to join you. It is really that simple.”
Procap Strengthens Its Bitcoin Game Plan
Jeff Park’s new role as Procap’s CIO signals a sharper focus on Bitcoin acquisition and portfolio performance. His experience at Bitwise gave him deep exposure to digital assets. Besides that, his time at Corbin Capital cemented his reputation in traditional finance. Park brings a valuable hybrid of traditional and crypto investment skills. Hence, his addition gives Procap an edge in navigating complex markets.
Pompliano and Bitwise still appear friendly despite the move. He praised Bitwise’s leadership on X, saying, “I would never bet against Hunter Horsley, Teddy Fusaro, Matt Hougan, and team.”
SharpLink Doubles Down on Ethereum Strategy
On the Ethereum front, SharpLink made a game-changing move. The company named Joseph Chalom, a 20-year BlackRock veteran, as its Co-CEO. Chalom led BlackRock’s launch of the iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), now worth over $10 billion. His arrival boosts SharpLink’s Ethereum-driven vision.
Chairman Joseph Lubin stated, “His decision to join SharpLink is a resounding validation of our ETH treasury strategy.” Chalom echoed the excitement, saying, “SharpLink’s commitment… reflects a bold and forward-thinking vision.”
