WoofSwap proposes changes to smart contracts and validator nodes to enhance Shibarium's speed and decentralization.
Community concerns rise as Shiba Inu leaders face criticism for selective support of specific tokens and payment options.
Both sides stress the importance of transparency and fair governance to maintain Shibarium’s developer appeal and market strength.
WoofSwap has proposed a detailed roadmap aimed at improving the Shibarium blockchain’s performance and fairness. The decentralized exchange platform shared a series of development-focused reforms designed to address what it described as preferential treatment by Shiba Inu’s core leadership.
The plan includes adjusting the current allocation of 20 million BONE tokens by incorporating broader community input. WoofSwap has also recommended revising smart contract structures to help reduce Ethereum gas fees. It further suggested expanding cross-chain token support and introducing a BONE token burn feature alongside the existing SHIB burn mechanism.
Focus on Decentralization and Community Involvement
To foster decentralization, WoofSwap proposed a gradual rollout of validator nodes. The platform also called for relaunching community engagement channels with a more accessible and transparent format. It advocated transforming the Karma project into a meme coin with an associated airdrop, aimed at reinvigorating community interest.
WoofSwap emphasized that before aiming for wider external achievements such as centralized exchange listings or broader Shibarium support, the ecosystem must first resolve internal imbalances. The platform encouraged efforts like crowdfunding for listing fees once key governance reforms are adopted.
Leadership Criticized for Selective Endorsement
These proposals come after WoofSwap criticized Shiba Inu developers, specifically Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya, for promoting the POE token while overlooking other projects. WoofSwap argued this approach discourages developers and creates an uneven development environment on Shibarium.
In response, Kaal Dhairya acknowledged the perception of bias and stressed the need for DAO-led governance and transparent decision-making. He noted efforts to support WoofSwap in the past and called for unity to protect Shibarium from external competition.
The reform proposals arrive as the Shiba Inu ecosystem marks its fifth anniversary. Developments such as the Alpha Layer update and a new infrastructure partnership point to ongoing growth. Despite differing views, both parties agreed on the necessity for reform to strengthen the network’s credibility and appeal to developers.
